History is repeating itself for the Saskatchewan Rush.
The Rush were outgunned 16-13 against the Toronto Rock at Scotiabank Arena Saturday to end it’s two-game road trip.
It was the second straight loss for Saskatchewan after falling 13-10 in Georgia a week earlier.
It is first time the team has lost two in a row since the 2017 season when it lost to these exact teams on the same road trip.
Saskatchewan found themselves down 2-0 early on, but were able to gain a 3-2 lead thanks to goals from Mark Matthews and Ben McIntosh.
Toronto would come right back after that to regain its lead, going into the second quarter with a 6-5 lead.
The Rock would keep the goals coming as Adam Jones capped his first-half hat trick just over two minutes into the second quater as the Rock built a 11-8 lead going into halftime.
Three straight goals by the Rush to start the third quarter would be as close as the team would come to evening the game up at Toronto stormed back with three goals of its own for a 15-10 lead.
Saskatchewan’s offence was unable to overcome Toronto’s stingy defence in the game’s final minutes as Toronto sealed its fifth win in a row.
Saskatchewan (3-3) will play the Calgary Roughnecks on Feb. 9.
Toronto is on a bye week before playing the West Division-leading San Diego Seals on Feb. 15.
