After a weekend of wild windy weather that included rain and freezing rain, a bitterly cold arctic air mass is moving into the province.
An extreme cold warning has been issued for areas that include extreme cold warning for Saskatoon, Regina, Martensville, Outlook, Watrous, the Battlefords, Unity, Maidstone, Fort Qu’appelle, Carlyle, Estevan, Weyburn, Milestone, and Yorkton.
Northerly winds of 15 to 20 km/h will combine with the extremely cold temperatures to produce dangerous wind chill values in the -40 to -45 range across southern Saskatchewan.
These dangerous wind chill values will redevelop on tuesday night followed by gradual improvement beginning Wednesday.
Environment Canada reminded us on Monday that extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
