A black plume of smoke rose from Saskatoon’s east end Thursday morning after a garage went up in flames in the Wildwood neighbourhood.
The detached garage, located behind a home at 323 Nemeiben Road, caught fire around 11:40 a.m. and prompted several 911 calls to Saskatoon Fire.
When firefighters arrived, they took a defensive position to protect the homes nearby from catching fire as well.
The flames were brought under control within 40 minutes of the first fire crew arriving and contained to the garage.
No injuries were reported.
Fire investigators are still determining a cause and damage estimate.
