It’s back to scarves and toques this week in Saskatchewan as the province braces for another cold snap after enjoying a few mild days.
Environment Canada meteorologist Chris Stammers said most of the province could expect the skies to clear by late Tuesday morning, with temperatures falling through the day.
Saskatoon and Regina were expected to see overnight lows of -19 C Tuesday due to a ridge of high pressure moving south from the western Arctic.
Stammers said temperatures will only get colder through the week.
“Over the next couple nights it’ll gradually get colder so we have lows in the -27 C range for Thursday night and Friday night.”
Stammers said Regina and Saskatoon could see wind chills dip below -30 C through the week, with parts of northern Saskatchewan expected to see wind chills in the -40 C range.
The cold weather was expected to last through the weekend before warming up in the early part of next week.
