There has been a saying that has been in sports and sports broadcasting for some time: Teams have to “know how to win.”
Teams that don’t have experience winning on a regular basis sometimes buckle under pressure. Some teams that have had success know how to overcome adversity.
The New England Patriots, a team that many are tired of seeing deep in
the NFL playoffs, fall in to the category of “knowing how to win.”
In 2018, many wondered if the Patriots time as a dominant team was over when
New England started the season with a 1-2 record.
Back-to-back losses in December to Miami and Pittsburgh had those same people asking if New England’s time had expired again.
Apparently not.
When the Pats rolled out to a 35-7 half time lead over the Chargers in the AFC Divisional Round on Sunday, they quickly proved that they still “know how to win” in big games, like it or not.
