Police have laid charges in the death of a man on the Big River First Nation shortly before Christmas.
Big River RCMP reported the man died after being hit by a vehicle around 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 23. At the time, police said the vehicle involved left the scene.
On Friday, police said they’d charged a 50-year-old man with failing to remain at the scene of a fatal crash. The man is also charged with public mischief and obstructing a police officer.
Neither the name of the alleged victim or the name of the accused was released by police.
