As many recover from a late night, some will be trying to start off the new year by getting a few things done. That could be cut short if the chores involved the city facilities, however, as many are closed or on reduced hours for the January 1 holiday.
The landfill will be closed Tuesday.
The administrative office at Saskatoon City Hall will be closed, and the municipal impound lot will not be releasing vehicles Tuesday.
The Remai Modern will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Saskatoon’s public libraries will be closed January 1.
Garbage collection and recycling collection for January 1 has been moved. Garbage collection was moved up to Sunday, December 30, while recycling collection has been pushed back to Saturday, January 5.
Saskatoon Transit and Access Transit will be running on holiday schedules January 1.
Parking is free at meters in Saskatoon January 1.
Outdoor arenas will be open subject to weather as they’re not supervised, but there will be no indoor public skating Tuesday.

Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo – Open January 1 with regular hours of operation (Zoo: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & Park: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
ACT Arena – CLOSED.
Archibald Arena – CLOSED.
Cosmo Arena – CLOSED.
Gordie Howe Kinsmen Arena – CLOSED from December 21 to January 2.
Cosmo Civic Centre – CLOSED.
Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre – OPEN January 1 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All fitness classes CANCELLED.
Lakewood Civic Centre – OPEN January 1 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All childminding, fitness classes and indoor playground CANCELLED.
Lawson Civic Centre – OPEN January 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All fitness classes CANCELLED.
