A tongue-in-cheek series of Twitter posts from Saskatchewan RCMP are discouraging people from ringing in the New Year in their custody.
“If you make the choice to drive impaired, you could be curled up with an itchy wool blanket next to a stainless steel toilet, enjoying a microwaveable dinner for one in a 6 x 10 cell,” one of the tweets posted on Monday read.

They go on to discourage people from driving impaired and remind people there are other options.
“Call a cab, take the bus, text a parent or claim a spot on a friend’s couch for the night,” the tweet said.
It comes after SGI made a plea to drivers stay sober following a crash that killed an 11-year-old girl just before Christmas.
Impaired driving is the most common way people are killed on Saskatchewan roads, according to SGI figures.
