A 29-year-old man is facing charges after being Tasered Sunday morning by Saskatoon police.
Police were reportedly called around 8:20 a.m. to an apartment building located about two blocks east of St. Paul’s Hospital on the 1400 block of 20th Street West, in response to a complaint of a trespasser armed with a golf club.
Officers confronted the golf club-wielding suspect, who allegedly tried to run away, then fought officers as they attempted to make an arrest.
Police said one of the officers used a Taser to subdue the man so he could be taken into custody.
No injuries were reported, the suspect was reportedly being held in custody ahead of a scheduled appearance Sunday night before a justice of the peace.
He’s charged with possessing a weapon, obstruction and resisting arrest.
The incident will be reviewed in line with Saskatoon Police Service policy on the use of stun guns.
