City of Saskatoon services will see some schedule changes over the holidays.
City hall will be closed for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Parking will be free at city pay stations on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1, but drivers are still required to move their vehicles within the posted time limits. Payment will still be required on Boxing Day.
The landfill will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but will open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Boxing Day.
There will be no extra garbage collection scheduled this year during the Christmas holidays.
Homes where black garbage bins would normally be picked up on Dec. 25 will have their garbage picked up Dec. 29 instead. Garbage collection that would usually fall on New Year’s Day will be moved to Dec. 30.
Blue bins will also be emptied on Dec. 29 instead of Dec. 25. Recycling pick-ups scheduled for New Year’s Day will be moved ahead to Jan. 5.
Saskatoon Transit will operate on a holiday schedule for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but will run as normal on Boxing Day.
Access Transit will operate on a holiday schedule Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.
The Saskatoon Forestry Farm, Park will be closed Christmas Day but open with regular hours on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
The Remai Modern Art Gallery will close for Christmas Day and be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both New Year’s Day and Boxing Day.
The Gordie Howe Kinsmen Arena and the Lions Arena are closed Dec. 21 to Jan. 2. All the city’s other indoor rinks will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will be closed Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.
All city leisure centres are closed for Christmas Day. Full listings of each leisure centre’s holiday schedules can be found on the City of Saskatoon website.
