If suspicious texts are showing up in your inbox, you’re not alone.
Messages are being sent to phones across the province, purportedly from SaskTel, SaskPower and Rogers.
It claims the recipient has been overcharged and can expect a refund.
It prompts the person who has received the message to click on a link in the body of the text.
The link will take you to a new page where personal information can be stolen.
SaskPower warns against responding to these texts by giving out personal information; it also cautioned that the text message may be away for scammers to steal your money.
The utility provider said anyone worried about or wanting to report a fraudulent text message should contact police or the Canadian anti-fraud centre.
