Saskatoon police say a 26-year-old man is expected to survive after he was attacked Saturday.
Police were called around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to an area near a pedestrian walkway at Vancouver Avenue North, in the city’s Mount Royal neighbourhood.
A caller reported seeing a man get assaulted by three other men. One of them was armed with a baseball bat. The three attackers reportedly fled the scene on bicycles in the direction of 22nd Street.
Police reported they were unable to find the alleged victim when they arrived at the scene.
A second call came in around 7 p.m. Officers arrived to learn that the man who had reportedly been attacked earlier in the day had made his way to a home on 33rd Street and was then taken to hospital by paramedics.
Police interviewed the alleged victim, who told them he was walking home at the time of the attack. He was described as having suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The suspected attackers are believed to be young men or boys. They were reportedly wearing all black clothing with hoods pulled up. All were described as being about six feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds with medium to average builds.
