A man is dead after a crash between a car and a semi on Highway 41 near Wakaw Wednesday morning.
RCMP said the semi hauling crusher dust was heading west when it crashed into an eastbound car. Police responded at 7:50 a.m. along with the Cudworth Fire Department and Wakaw EMS.
The driver of the car died at the scene but the semi driver was not injured.
Dave Bergen came upon the scene north of Alvena around 8 a.m. and said the road was icy and visibility wasn’t good at the time.
The cause has not been determined at this point and RCMP have not said if weather may have been a factor.
The name of the man who was killed has not been released at this time.
Highway 41 was closed for nearly 10 hours before being reopened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
