Fog advisories back on for central and southern Sask.

Much like Tuesday, Environment Canada is warning reduced visibility is possible Wednesday as a blanket of dense fog forms over central and southern Saskatchewan.

The weather agency issued fog advisories for areas along the Alberta boundary around the Battlefords, stretching down through Saskatoon and Regina and all the way south around Weyburn to the U.S. border.

“We’re already getting visibility down to 400 meters, and may even get less than that so could be some very limited visibility,” said Environment Canada Meteorologist Dave Baggaley, adding the denser fog will be seen between Lloydminster and Saskatoon.

Baggaley said that region is also at risk of freezing drizzle which could create slippery conditions.

With the potential for poor visibility, the weather agency is reminding drivers to use their headlights.

The fog is expected to clear up by Wednesday afternoon, Baggaley said.
