10:30 – Private Willie Bearisto was born in PEI, but moved to Saskatchewan to homestead. He worked his piece of land in Saskatchewan for seven years before signing up to serve in WWI. Willie died overseas in France in September of 1918, just before the end of the war. Willie’s great nephew Skip Bearisto returned to France this past September to honour Willie and visit the battlefield where he died. Now, Skip is searching to find out more about Willie’s time in Saskatchewan and see if he can find relatives of anyone he knew or the family he boarded with.

The famous Canadian political satirists joins John now to discuss his new book and life after the 15-season run of his show, which ended last April. Rick will be in Saskatoon Nov. 12 at McNally Robinson at 7 p.m. to sign copies of the new book.
