Saskatoon police have three people in custody after a crash Thursday morning
Police reported that patrol officers spotted a stolen vehicle around 8:30 a.m. The officers followed the vehicle without activating their sirens until they reached 33rd Street and Avenue P North.
At that point, officers laid down stop sticks to puncture the vehicle’s tires. Police said the suspect driver then sped west on 33rd Street before sideswiping another car, then hitting a power pole, which caused the allegedly stolen vehicle to tip onto its side near Avenue W.
Two men and a woman were found inside the vehicle. One of the men was taken to hospital as a precaution, the other two people were taken to the police holding cells.
Police reportedly also seized several machetes from inside the vehicle.
