I haven’t used the phrase “fans got their money’s worth” when it comes to NHL games for some time now, because games in Canadian cities can be prohibitively expensive to attend.
I may know one or two people, but not many individuals that have season tickets in National Hockey League markets.
Most of the time employees get a turn at corporate tickets to attend occasionally, or people may splurge on two or three games a year.
However it may have been enjoyed, hockey fans are buzzing about Tuesday night’s Oilers/Penguins game, and for good reason.
It was a highly anticipated match up, featuring two of the league’s top superstars which didn’t disappoint.
In OT, three-time Stanley Cup champion Sidney Crosby worked his way through two defenders to score a highlight reel goal in a 6-5 contest. Many of you have no doubt seen it. If you haven’t, find it.
I’ll stop short of saying that the people attending the game got their money’s worth, but I will say that was one of the best games fans will see all season.
