Police nab racers on Chief Mistawasis Bridge

The only place a pair of young men will be racing for the next month is to their nearest bus stop.

Saskatoon police reportedly caught the two, described as men in their late teens, street racing Saturday night on the new Chief Mistawasis Bridge.

In a tweet posted to the Saskatoon Police Service traffic unit’s account, officers stated the two men, both in their late teens, were clocked doing 134 km/h in the 70 zone on the bridge.

The two were each fined $1160 and had their vehicles impounded for 30 days.

Officers were able to stop 2 vehicles racing on the Chief Mistiwasis Bridge Saturday night. Both men in their late teens were charged with going 134 km/h in the 70 zone and with taking part in a contest of speed.
