The truck driver charged in connection to the Humboldt Broncos bus crash was due for another court hearing Monday in Melfort.
Jaskirat Singh Sidhu is facing 16 counts of dangerous driving causing death and 13 counts of dangerous driving causing injury in relation to the April 6 crash.
Monday was supposed to see Sidhu choose whether he wants to be tried in provincial court, or in the federal Court of Queen’s Bench.
Sidhu was not required to appear in person Monday. Instead, defence lawyer Satnam Aujla appeared by phone and requested more time to look over the particulars of the case before proceeding.
The judge granted Aujla’s request for an adjournment and set Sidhu’s next hearing date to Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m in Melfort.
Sidhu has made two previous appearances. He was granted $1,000 bail back in July.
