Saskatoon police are an online sensation.
They’re lip syncing video featuring members singing along to the Backstreet Boys’ 1999 hit I Want It That Way surpassed 2 million views on Facebook Sunday.
“Thank you to everyone who has watched and shared. We are extremely humbled at your support,” the police services tweeted.
The video which was released Friday also caught the attention of the music group and singer Nick Carter.

The lip sync challenge has become a popular trend among police forces across North America and served as inspiration for two Saskatoon constables to approach public affairs to make a video of their own, according to Insp. Randy Huisman.
“They decided to come up with the story line on the theft of the doughnut which … included a parody on the line-up scene from Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
Huisman, one of roughly 50 members featured, said officers gave up their free time for the project which took two weeks to make.
“It really was a big team-builder. Good community builder. Great for the morale of our officers,” he told the Brent Loucks Show Monday.
“One of the important things is it shows the public that police officers are human and we can show our vulnerabilities sometimes.”
