Saskatoon police have made an arrest in a second-degree murder case.
An injured 24-year-old man was found in the hallway of Marquis Towers on Fifth Ave. N. in Saskatoon’s downtown Aug. 10. The victim, later identified as Elijah Kozak, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
On Tuesday, officers arrested 22-year-old Duran Laplante, who was wanted for murder in connection with Kozak’s death. Laplante was scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court Aug. 22.
Police said Laplante and Kozak knew each other, and got into a fight.
The case is the eighth murder investigation of the year in Saskatoon.
