The weapon was stolen on Aug. 8th.
The SPS guns and gangs unit hasĀ been in charge of the file and a number of search warrants had already been executed in an effort to locate the weapon.
On Tuesday, an anonymous person dropped it off at the police department.
No charges will be laid in connection to that.
However, investigators are still trying to find the original culprit in this case.
