Wilkie RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a man they say escaped officers twice on Monday night.
Officers were responding to a complaint about a suspicious vehicle at a rural property on Highway 29 north of Wilkie around 4:45 p.m. when the incident began.
RCMP said in a release the officers found a stolen green Ford F350 truck with separately stolen plates, and informed the driver he was under arrest.
The driver then put the vehicle in reverse, struck a play structure on the property and backed into some bushes. He then drove forward, toward one of the responding officers.
The RCMP officer wasn’t injured.
The truck then drove through a field, and police didn’t pursue because of the terrain. Instead, they chose to patrol the area.
A short time later, officers found a white Ford F350 driving erratically on a grid road. They found the green truck abandoned in the area.
The driver later ditched the white truck, but police haven’t found him yet.
Wilkie RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for 38-year-old Sean Reid Schille in connection to the incident.
He faces charges of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, flight from police, motor vehicle theft, assault with a weapon, impaired driving, dangerous driving, possession of marijuana and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Anyone with information on Schille’s whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP at 306-228-6300.
