The city is advising drivers to expect delays on Taylor Street heading eastbound after the intersection with Arlington Avenue.
Crews will be working to widen Taylor Street after the intersection. Once the road is widened, it will be re-aligned, creating a continuous section of two lanes heading eastbound.
Sidewalks, medians and light posts will also have to be moved to accommodate the changes.
Drivers were warned there could be lane restrictions in place throughout the project. Turning could also be restricted at the Taylor Street and Arlington Avenue intersection.
A city media release stated the contract for the work requires construction to be complete by Aug. 31 to avoid interfering with school buses in the fall.
