Your favourite rides and deep-fried treats are back as the Saskatoon Ex kicks off Tuesday.
Keeping with tradition, the Saskatoon Ex Parade rang in the six-day fair by winding through downtown.
People of all ages lined the parade route along 24th Street, 2nd Avenue, 20th Street and Spadina Crescent.

The Saskatoon Ex opens at Prairieland Park starting noon Tuesday. For the first time, all admissions – regardless of age – are $10 throughout opening day.
There are 47 rides this year, along with daily indoor and outdoor shows including master hypnotist Tyzen, magician Jason Andrews, meet and greets with Paw Patrol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, President’s Choice Superdogs and the Silver Starlets.
All shows, including grandstand concerts, will once again be free with the price of admission, however, there’s a new option this year for fans who want premium seats to their favourite artists.
Available online only, people can buy a seat for $25 – this does not include admission – to guarantee a good view of the following acts:
- Tuesday: Carly Rae Jepsen
- Wednesday: Marianas Trench
- Thursday: Trace Adkins
- Friday: Tim Hicks
- Saturday: April Wine
- Sunday: Crash n’ Bash Demolition Derby featuring Longshot
Wednesday marks the return of Kids Day, while Thursday ushers in Kickin’ Country Thursday – where people are encouraged to wear a cowboy hat and get a free photo with Fred the Bull, a taxidermy bull, from 2 to 7 p.m.
Friday at the Ex is Foodie Fry-day and offers – for the first time — the Foody Frenzy eating challenge where people can sign up to see how many spudnuts they can eat, or take on a hot wing competition.
The last day of the Ex, Sunday, is Family Day offering discounts for seniors and children.
Anyone heading to the ex can show their superpass on Saskatoon Transit ride the bus for free.
Preferred parking is available onsite at Prairieland Park on a first come first serve basis – cash only at parking booths, $10 per vehicle. Free for vehicles with five or more occupants.
