Using a combination of technology and performance Overhear is not your average theatre experience.
The production by It’s Not a Box Theatre uses an iPhone app to guide people through a series of short performances in the Broadway area.
“You listen to a narrator to give you guidance and if you get lost you can always consult the map and see the next story is at this street corner or under the bridge,” said Artistic Director Torien Cafferata.
During the performance, the audience uses headphones to hear a musical score and narration.
“It’s almost as if you’re listening to (the actors) inner thoughts,” Cafferata told 650 CKOM.
Overhear is one of the productions in this year’s Fringe Festival which runs until Saturday, August 11.
People without iPhones can still experience the show, Cafferata said they provide them for the performance.
