Saskatoon RCMP are searching from the skies above and the waters below for a missing Saskatoon man.
Robert Harry Lehto, 57, was last seen at Paradise Beach on Sunday night near a sand bar in the South Saskatchewan River.
Saskatoon Fire began searching for him when he was reported missing around 6 p.m. that evening after not being seen for nearly four hours. With help from STARS Air Ambulance and an RCMP police dog, officers were unable find Lehto.
Items found in the area were able to narrow the search to an area near Paradise Beach, located roughly 20 kilometres south of Saskatoon.
The RCMP Underwater Recovery Unit and Civillian Air Search and Rescue joined the search effort Monday. Saskatoon Search and Rescue and RCMP F Division Search and Rescue are assisting in the search along the river.
Police are asking anyone that has seen Lehto after Sunday to contact them at 306-975-5145.
