Western Canada’s largest outdoor farm show is getting ready to open its gates just outside Saskatoon.
Ag in Motion’s fourth annual showcase opens Tuesday morning off Highway 16 near Langham, featuring 320 acres-worth of product demonstrations and test crops for farmers from around the world.
Show Director Rob O’Connor told 650 CKOM they’re expecting 25,000 people to attend in 2018, a significant increase from the 11,500 the show saw when they started in 2015.
He said some of the contingent is international this year, with one company flying 100 people from Australia to view a product launch.
“Even though we haven’t been promoting the show overseas, word has travelled,” he said.
“That’s because Western Canada is really the place where dry-land farming technology and innovation is grown from.”
O’Connor noted 58 more companies have signed up for booths at the three-day-long show.
He said big players in the agriculture industry see Ag in Motion as a big money draw.
“It’s pretty evident that they use this show as an opportunity to really launch their products and create some sales,” he said.
Among the items featured this year are high-clearance sprayers, air seeders, tillage equipment and forage equipment.
The show runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily between July 17-19, and tickets can be purchased online.
