A man is recovering in a Saskatoon hospital after the helicopter he was flying contacted a power line and crashed to the ground Tuesday.
Unity RCMP responded to a call of a helicopter crash Tuesday at around 8:15 a.m. in the RM of Eye Hill.
RCMP said the helicopter was spraying a field with “a non-toxic liquid” when it clipped nearby power lines before going down.
SaskPower, Luseland Police, Luseland Fire Department and Unity Emergency Medical Services responded to the call alongside Unity RCMP.
The pilot was the only one on board and was treated at the scene by emergency personnel and transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Saskatoon with non-life threatening injuries.
Transport Canada, Transport Safety Board and Occupational Health and Safety are assisting Unity RCMP in the ongoing investigation.
