Saskatoon police reported dealing with a man barricaded inside a building Tuesday morning in the city’s Parkridge neighbourhood.
Police were called around 9:30 a.m. to a home on the 100 block of Podiluk Court for a report of a disturbance involving a potentially armed man.
Officers arrived to find a 33-year-old man in an outbuilding on the property.
Police said they had reason to believe the man was in possession of a firearm. As such, those living nearby were either evacuated or told to stay in their homes.
The situation was resolved peacefully by 11 a.m., with the suspect taken into custody and a loaded gun seized by officers.
Police did not provide any information on potential charges stemming from the incident.
