RCMP provided an update Tuesday on the investigation into a deadly crash on Highway 16.
Bettina Shuurmans, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene Monday morning after the tractor she and her husband were riding in was involved in a collision with a semi truck.
Henk Shuurmans was taken to hospital in Saskatoon where he was listed in serious condition.
The Shuurman’s were reportedly travelling in their tractor while hauling a large model cow as part of a cross-Canada tour meant to promote the domestic dairy industry.
Police said Tuesday that the Shuurman’s tractor and the semi truck were both headed westbound on Highway 16 at the time of the crash, which happened near a set of weigh scales on the way to the community of Langham.
A police release stated that initial investigation had found the semi truck rear-ended the tractor.
To date, no charges have been laid. Police said their investigation remains open.
