More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
Saskatchewan Roughrider Duron Carter is fighting his pot possession charge.
The lawyer for the 27-year-old entered a not guilty plea on his behalf at Saskatoon Provincial Court Wednesday morning.
Carter was arrested Feb. 1 at the Saskatoon airport when security allegedly found marijuana in a passenger’s bag.
His case returns to court Thursday, July 5.
On June 21, Carter received an absolute discharge after pleading guilty to an earlier pot possession in Winnipeg.
According to his lawyer, Carter was caught with marijuana-laced cookies at Winnipeg International Airport on Nov. 25, 2017.
An absolute discharge is the lowest-level adult sentence, and means the offence won’t appear on Carter’s criminal record.
