Police have charged a man with uttering threats after what they described as a domestic dispute at a home in the Confederation Park neighbourhood.
Officers arrived at a house on Galt Court Monday just before midnight after getting a report of a man armed with an axe damaging property and threatening people.
The man was still carrying the axe when officers arrived, according to a police media release.
Officers said the 37-year-old suspect was unco-operative, causing officers to use a taser to try and get him under control.
While the taser failed to subdue the man, officers were reportedly able to physically restrain him and place him under arrest.
No injuries were reported.
Police policy requires a review any time an officer uses a taser.
