Saskatoon police have made an arrest in the case of a woman who was shot this week while standing on an apartment balcony.
Witnesses told police a car pulled into a parking lot Monday evening near an apartment building on the 600 block of Confederation Drive. Then someone in the back seat fired a shot at a 22-year-old woman standing on a balcony, hitting her in the hand.
Paramedics took the woman to hospital. At the time, police said they didn’t think the attack was random.
By Tuesday, police had identified a 19-year-old suspect in connection to the shooting.
Officers conducting a traffic stop around 9 p.m. Tuesday on the 300 block of Avenue R South reportedly spotted the suspect walking by.
Police said the man was arrested without incident.
He’s due to appear in court Wednesday.
