A Saskatoon man has his neighbour to thank for helping him escape a house fire in the Forest Grove neighbourhood Sunday night.
Fire crews were called to Grant Street around 8 p.m. about a person inside the burning mobile home.
The man managed to escape the blaze uninjured.
According to a release from the fire department, he was asleep at the time, but awoken by a neighbour banging on the door.
Damage is estimated at $80,000. An investigator has determined the cause of the fire was unattended cooking.
The fire department reminds people to ensure they have a working smoke detector in their homes.
