Two Saskatoon police officers are lucky they’re not hurt after a driver swerved into oncoming traffic and nearly hit their unmarked vehicle early Thursday morning.
The officers were on 33rd Street near Avenue Y when they saw the erratic driving around 5 a.m.
After the near-miss, the driver allegedly sped off. Police later caught up to the vehicle and watched it “doing circles” before hitting a pole.
The driver then tried to back up and take off again, but other patrol units came into the area and conducted a traffic stop. the driver was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen.
A 19-year-old woman was charged with dangerous driving and possessing stolen property over $5,000.
