Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches late Wednesday morning for a broad area of southern and central Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon and Regina.
The weather service said a cold front pushing eastward across the province was expected to bring thunderstorms which could produce high winds, large hailstones and heavy rain.
A bulletin issued shortly before 10:30 a.m. also contained a reminder of the risk of tornadoes associated with any thunderstorm activity.
The storms were expected to taper off Wednesday evening as they moved into Manitoba.
