The father of a young man killed over the weekend in a crash on Circle Drive is remembering his son as a good kid who knew what he wanted in life.
The crash happened early Sunday morning near Preston Avenue.
20-year-old Carson Sawatsky died at the scene.
His father, Calvin Sawatsky shared some memories of his son.
“One of our big things was eating suppers out. He would order his lobster. [He] always had the most expensive meal. There are just so many things I can remember. Just none of them were bad,” Sawatsky said.
Sawatzky said he wanted people to know his son was an upstanding young man with a bright future ahead of him.
“Most people say they don’t know what I’m going through. And they don’t. I lost two brothers at a very young age and this hurts so much more. I can hardly breathe,” Sawatsky said. “He’s not a drug addict. Doesn’t do drugs. He’s a good damn kid. He was two minutes from home. He just made a mistake.”
He said Carson had been learning the family business of doing spray foam insulation and roofing work with his twin brother, Austin. They had planned to take it over some day.
