A retired Saskatchewan RCMP officer was handed four criminal charges, including theft and fraud Monday.
In a release issued Monday afternoon, RCMP said an investigation was launched in February of 2013 after receiving information of accounting irregularities in the RCMP F Division Drugs and Organized Crime Awareness Service.
The investigation revealed a misappropriation of funds from the Government of Canada into personal bank accounts totaling over $18,000.
Cheryl Jarvis, who served as a Sergeant in charge of F Division from May 2008 until October 2010, retired in 2015.
Her charges are for theft over $5,000, fraud over $5,000, forgery and use of a forged document.
Jarvis’ first court appearance is on Tuesday in Regina Provincial Court.
