A 14-year-old boy is facing charges after a run-in with a police officer inside a Saskatoon high school Monday.
According to Saskatoon police, a member of the school resource unit was at Walter Murray Collegiate for an unrelated matter around 11 a.m.
Police said before leaving, the officer was alerted about a student in a “vulnerable state,” and who was “possibly violent.”
When the student was found, he allegedly ran away and a chase ensued – eventually ending in a school stairwell.
While trying to place the boy under arrest, police said the student struck the officer several times before being subdued and taken into custody.
The 14-year-old is charged with assaulting a peace officer.
