Parking is expected to become even more congested at Royal University Hospital this week.
The parkade’s main entrance on Hospital Drive will be temporarily closed Monday to allow crews to dismantle the construction crane at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital site.
Traffic will be detoured to the smaller entrance between the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and RUH for the week while work is completed.
With more than 3,000 vehicles using the entrance each day, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said drivers can expect delays coming and leaving the parkade and should give themselves additional time.
To help alleviate the congestion, the hospital is directing some staff to park elsewhere or find alternate ways to work.
