I understand the frustration.
Raptor fans watched their team fail to make a dent in the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the 2018 playoffs. There were high hopes after Toronto had a 59 win season, while Cleveland had 50.
However, I don’t understand why there would be any discussion about a coaching change. The Cavs are a team that have been to the last three NBA finals, and a team that is a year removed from a championship. We all knew that the road to the eastern conference final would likely have to go through northern Ohio.
Dwane Casey has played a huge role in three straight 50 win seasons for the Raptors and five straight playoff appearances. Earlier this season Casey was named as a coach of the all-star game.
There should be no questions about Casey’s ability. Questions should be directed at GM Masai Ujiri. This team needs to find a player or two that can help the Raptors get over the playoff hurdles they can’t seem to clear.
