Lacrosse fans in the province will have to wait one more week to see the Saskatchewan Rush begin its quest for a third Champion’s Cup, but there’s nothing stopping them from getting a little fired up this weekend.
To preview the Western Division semifinal game between the Calgary Roughnecks and Colorado Mammoth on Saturday, the Rush will be showing what they really think of its competition by crushing a car.
That’s right.
The Saskatchewan Rush monster truck, usually parked in front of Sasktel Centre at each home game, will be crushing a Mammoth and Roughnecks themed car to keep the playoff anticipation high throughout the week.
The flattening begins at 11 a.m. in the Wilson’s Greenhouse parking lot.
From there, fans can fill up on some lunch before heading to Sasktel Centre for an open practice (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) to see their favourite players prepare for a championship run.
Saturday’s game begins at 7 p.m. and can be seen live on Twitter.
Saskatchewan will host the winner of that game on May 13 at Sasktel Centre. Ball drop is at 5 p.m.
