Naloxone saves 2 men from overdoses in Saskatoon

Two men are recovering in hospital after Saskatoon police and paramedics used Naloxone to revive the men, saving them from suspected overdoses.

Police responded to a call at an apartment building in the 100 block of Avenue U South shortly before 7 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, a man was unresponsive and believed to be suffering from an overdose.

As officers began CPR and Naloxone treatment, a second man collapsed beside him.

Medavie Health Services arrived shortly before the second man lost consciousness and administered Naloxone to him.

Police are reminding people of any drugs that have not been prescribed by a doctor or pharmacist pose a serious health risk.
