The Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy happened eleven days ago. In a strange twist of emotions I’m sad and encouraged.
I’ll repeat a thought and share a new thought today.
It is worth repeating that the Broncos and the city of Humboldt are lucky to have a leader such as Kevin Garinger. (I don’t know Kevin).
He, like many others, is no doubt devastated by what has happened. Yet again on Monday he was front-and-centre, outlining how millions of dollars will be distributed to the families and to those that have been hurt by this accident.
The new thought is this: Faith in humanity is alive and well.
Jonathan Toews is cheering people up with the Stanley Cup, while I heard a story of a five-year-old girl who emptied her change purse into a bucket to help the day after the accident.
Each act of kindness just as important as the other.
As Kevin Garinger stated on Monday, the hope of the GoFundMe page was to maybe raise $5,000.00 for coffee and parking.
We’ve got this.
