It’s night one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It’s time to honour the Humboldt Broncos, then play hockey.
The Broncos were chasing a dream. Now, 16 NHL teams chase a dream. In a far less important tradition, it’s time to try predict who will win the Stanley Cup.
I like Tampa Bay in the east. The Lightning have had a few issues down the stretch, however the second season may rejuvenate a Tampa Bay team that was impressive from October to late February.
I’ll take the Lightning to beat Pittsburgh in the eastern conference final. It’s hard to repeat, it’s even harder to “three-peat”.
I’ll take Nashville out of the west. They were a 100-point team in the regular season and a team that learned a lot from advancing all the way to the Stanley Cup final last year. The Predators will face and beat Anaheim in the western conference final.
My picks are online and now on air…something you can hold over my head later.
