The RCMP is out with a public safety warning as more suspected fentanyl-laced drugs are discovered in Saskatchewan.
In a media release, RCMP said officers responded to a sudden death call at a home in Maidstone Friday morning and found one man dead and another needing medical attention.
The second man died soon after at the home.
While it’s still early in the investigation, officials believe the men overdosed.
The coroner is working to find the cause of death and if drugs are involved.
On Tuesday, Kamsack RCMP was told by partner agencies that two people came into contact with cocaine and fentanyl but did not need medical attention.
In Saskatoon, three people died over the last week and several others were hospitalized after overdosing on cocaine laced with fentanyl.
RCMP and the Saskatoon Police Service have asked people who believe they have illegal drugs tainted with fentanyl to contact police to have them removed safely.
