Spiritwood RCMP say they won’t be laying any charges against a property owner who fired their gun in the air during a rural break in early Tuesday morning.
Police had earlier said a shot had been fired during the incident, which happened just after midnight, but didn’t immediately say who discharged the gun.
A 28-year-old man was arrested soon after and charged with various firearm-related offences, but RCMP noted he didn’t fire the gun.
Wednesday’s release added a Ford F-350 Dually that went missing from the property was found Tuesday evening in Debden by Big River RCMP.
Three people — two men and a woman — were taken into custody, but no charges have been laid against them.
Police said they’re reminding the public of the dangers of introducing a weapon, notably a gun, to any situation.
“Our message around safety has not changed. Please secure the safety of yourself and your family, call 911 and pay attention/observe all details if you are able,” the release said.
“If you can avoid a confrontation, please do so.”
Debden is located 94 kilometres northwest from Prince Albert.
