A new documentary series will bring viewers into the world of Saskatoon paramedics.
The first season of Paramedics: Emergency Response kicks of at 10 p.m. Tuesday on CityTV.
Troy Davies, public affairs director for Medavie Health Services West, said the show should leave viewers with a good idea of the challenges faced daily by first responders.
“We are very proud of the finished product, and feel that this is a realistic representation of what our paramedics handle on a daily basis.”
The show will follow 14 Saskatoon paramedics as they go through their days, responding to emergencies including broken bones, life-threatening traumas and overdose calls.
Saskatoon’s ambulance service is one of the busiest per capita in the country, with just over 200 employees handling over 30,000 emergency calls each year.
The series stems from a successful pilot episode aired in February 2017.
The show is produced by Saskatoon-based Fahrenheit Films.
The company released a preview video for the series ahead of the first episode.
