There’ll soon be three new faces in the Saskatchewan legislature.
Byelections are being held Thursday in Kindersley, Melfort and Swift Current.
All 135 regular polls opened at 9 a.m., and will remain open until 8 p.m.
The candidates are as follows:
- Kinderlsey: Ken Francis (Sask. Party), Travis Hebert (New Democratic Party), Yvonne Potter-Pihach (Saskatchewan Green Party)
- Melfort: Lorne Schroeder (New Democratic Party), Todd Goudy (Saskatchewan Party), Shawn Setyo (Saskatchewan Green Party)
- Swift Current: Aiden Roy (Saskatchewan Liberal Party), Maria Rose Lewans (Saskatchewan Green Party), Stefan Rumpel (New Democratic Party), Everett Hindley (Saskatchewan Party)
The ridings were previously held by the Saskatchewan Party.
Swift Current’s Brad Wall retired from politics in January, while longtime Kindersley MLA Bill Boyd resigned at the end of August.
The Melfort riding became vacant when MLA Kevin Phillips died in November.
All ballots, including advance voting, will be counted after 8 p.m. tonight.
Preliminary results will go live online, with the Final Count — the official results — taking place March 13.
